I am a parent of 2 kids and a weird little dog. Love playing games (tabletop (d&d 3.5 / 5e, pathfinder, Dolmenwood, Frag đ, tiny epic *, etc), PC (Minecraft, 7 days to die, Subnautica, Dyson Sphere Program, Fallout 4). I have always wanted to learn more about game dev, but that has never really been feasible with the fam, and full time job, and a healthy dose of ADHD. When I started listening to the AI Daily Brief in April2026 I realized I could try using Agentic AI (ie Claude Code) to enable actual progress in this area with my limited knowledge and free time. Put simply, CC fills the gaps in my knowledge and capabilities, I learn where its limitations are (i.e. make me a game and it makes a decent game really quickly, then ask it to make it look more realistic and i quickly find that there is a wall it hits where past that point it takes more and more of my handholding effort to get incremental improvements; but here and there I find ways through âprompt engineeringâ and at a deeper more persistent level âcontext engineeringâ), and I learn new stuff along the way when needed (like how to do some basic editing in blender, nuances of 3d models / textures / normal maps / animation bone rigs / etc).
